RP Skills Challenge 2026 Edition: Hackathon

Where skills meet industry challenges

About The Hackathon

Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) is committed to strengthening the alignment between academic training, applied research, and industry needs. While graduating students acquire strong technical and practical competencies, structured opportunities to demonstrate these skills in response to real industry challenges remain limited. To bridge this gap, RP proposes to organize a Graduands Hackathon & Industry Innovation Challenge, bringing together Graduands from all RP Colleges to develop practical solutions to real challenges sourced directly from industry. Unlike a traditional call for challenges, RP has proactively engaged selected industry partners through direct visits and structured discussions to ensure strong alignment and commitment. The initiative is anchored in RP’s Research Clusters, ensuring coherence with institutional research priorities and national development objectives. The Hackathon will culminate in a Pitching Day, and selected winning teams will be officially recognized and awarded during the Graduation Ceremony.

Why the hackathon?

The initiative aims to:

  • Provide graduating students with a platform to demonstrate practical skills acquired during their studies
