Startup Incubation Cohort 2026 Application

Rwanda Polytechnic's ICT Innovation Center is opening applications for its next Startup Incubation and Acceleration Program cohort. This is a 9-month, phased program that takes founders from idea validation through to a market-tested MVP and investment readiness backed by structured mentorship, coaching, and access to investor networks.

📌 Objectives

  • Equip founders with essential management knowledge and practical skills to build sustainable ventures.
  • Guide startups from idea validation through to a functional, market‑tested product (MVP).
  • Connect startups with experienced mentors, partners, and investors to foster long‑term growth.
  • Prepare tenants for external funding and investment readiness by the end of the program.

  • AgriTech (smart farming, precision agriculture, agri‑solutions).
  • Esports & Gaming (competitive gaming, game industry, interactive entertainment).
  • E‑Tourism (digital travel experiences, virtual tours, destination tech).
  • Emerging Technologies (AI, IoT, blockchain, VR/AR, cybersecurity).
  • FinTech (digital payments, financial inclusion, tech solutions).
  • EduTech( Digital Learning, Simulations, VR, AR, MXR, Instructional Design).

📬 Eligibility

Startups (tenants) will be selected through the intake process based on the following qualifications:

  • Operating in, or applying technology within, one of the seven targeted fields.
  • Demonstrated recognition of a real problem, supported by evidence (data, field observation, or user research).
  • CA defined solution or product, at any stage from concept to piloted MVP.
  • A team with clear role assignments and relevant skills or experience.
  • Preference for RP alumni with traction.
  • Having at least A2 Degree for non-RP graduates.
