✅ Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship
- The applicant must be a Rwandan academic staff at Rwanda Polytechnic.
- Able to stay in France during the entire study period.
- Must continue to work as an academic staff at Rwanda Polytechnic after completing studies (as per RP guidelines for study leave).
- Meet the entry requirements for the chosen program (see program links above).
- Hold at least a Bachelor's Degree with second class upper division (Distinction) in the below fields.
🎓 Required Bachelor's Backgrounds
Bachelor in: Biomedical Engineering, Biology/Biochemistry, Laboratory Sciences and Process Engineering.
✅ What the Scholarship Provides
- Living allowance during the study period (Maximum two years).
- Tuition fees.
- One round Air-Ticket.
- Visa fees.
- Health insurance.
✅ What the Scholarship does not Provide
- No discretionally extension will be allowed after the two years study period.
- Cost of failed courses/modules.
📄 Required Application Documents
- Application letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic (indicating the program).
- Personal statement (motivation + professional expectations) (Max 300 words).
- Copy of National ID or Valid passport.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Recommendation letter from the principal of the hosting RP-college.
- Certified copies of academic documents: Transcripts and Bachelor’s Degree. (Foreign degrees: equivalence from a competent organ in Rwanda).
- A brief concept note of the applied research to be conducted during MSc studies (detailed structure below).

▪ Project Title (not more than 20 words)
▪ Research area and Discipline
▪ Project Summary (max 500 words): overall description of anticipated research, problems to address, alignment with RP research agenda.
▪ Project Problem and Outputs (300 words): background of research problem(s) + expected outputs.
▪ Methodology/Research design (max 500 words): methodology and research approach from previous studies.
▪ Project Title (not more than 20 words)

⚖️ Selection Process
- Shortlisting based on eligibility criteria and completeness of application documents.
- Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a panel appointed by RP management.
- Only candidates nominated by Rwanda Polytechnic will be recommended to continue with the application process for studies at University Lyon 1.
